Folsom welcomes police officers
Two new police officers -- Melody Jones and David Rojo -- are now on the streets of Folsom, riding with patrol training officers as they complete on-the-job training. They will be joined by additional new officers in coming months.

Volunteer! Community Service Day sign-ups begin Monday, Sept. 8
Approximately 1,000 volunteers will complete 25 service projects all over town during Folsom's first Community Service Day on Saturday, Oct. 25.  All volunteers must sign up at http://folsom.ivolunteer.com to participate.  The site will be open for sign-ups beginning Monday, Sept. 8.  Volunteers will receive event T-shirts and a complimentary breakfast.  See project list, sponsors and more here.
  
Mutual Aid: Folsom firefighters
battle blazes around north state 
In response to intense fire activity in Northern California, Folsom Fire has deployed 27 personnel to fight wildfires in Shasta, Amador and Mendocino counties in recent weeks. They joined firefighters from partnering agencies as part of the California Mutual Aid System.
