Water questions? See answers from Folsom's top conservation pro
The City's water conservation team is receiving a lot of questions about local watering restrictions related to the drought.  Following are some of the most commonly asked questions and responses from Don Smith, Folsom's water management coordinator.

Cattle Drive & Folsom Pro Rodeo
Long-horn cattle, cowboys, a historic stagecoach and rodeo clowns will parade down Sutter Street beginning at
6 p.m. Wednesday, July 2. A parachutist featuring an American flag motif and trailing colored smoke will kick-off the free event with a landing in the intersection of Sutter and Wool streets.

Aerojet & City partner to save water
Aerojet Rocketdyne and the City of Folsom have completed infrastructure improvements that are designed to preserve the water capacity of Lake Folsom by using treated groundwater for the company's industrial water system. The improvements include upgrades to a groundwater treatment plant and the construction of an interim pipeline, which will supply about two million gallons of water per day to Aerojet Rocketdyne while reducing the amount of water the city supplies to the company by two thirds.

 

July 4 -- Use Safe & Sane fireworks
Folsom's Fire Danger rating is now at a "Very High" status, according to Fire Chief Ron Phillips. He urges residents to use only Safe and Sane Fireworks and to follow basic fire safety guidelines.
