Curious about City finances? Attend April 8 Budget Presentation
BudgetCity Manager Evert Palmer will present his proposed Fiscal Year 2014-15 $68.2 million Operating/General Fund Budget; $25.9 million Capital Improvement Project Budget; $32.7 million Enterprise Fund (water/sewer/solid waste) Budget; and $10.3 million Folsom Plan Area Infrastructure Budget (water and sewer) during the April 8 City Council meeting.  The meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. in Council Chambers at City Hall, 50 Natoma St.  A public hearing on the proposed budget will be held during the April 22 City Council meeting.

Folsom is competing against cities of similar size in a nationwide Mayor's Challenge for Water Conservation campaign.  Residents in winning cities have a chance to take home hundreds of eco-friendly prizes including a Toyota Prius Plug-in, water saving home products and home improvement gift cards.  It's quick and easy to take the water conservation pledge at  www.mywaterpledge.com.  On-line pledges will be accepted through April 30.  Water is our most precious resource.  Take the pledge to use it wisely.

New Citizen Ceremony @ Library April 12
A special Naturalization Ceremony for new citizens will be held at Folsom Public Library, 411 Stafford St., at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 12.  In partnership with U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services, the Library will host the ceremony as part of a National Library Week celebration. Last year 49 new citizens from 18 countries took the oath at the Folsom Library. The ceremony is open to the public.
