Getting rid of junk is easy 
A new on-line appointment system makes it easier than ever to dispose of yard waste, lumber, old furniture, BBQs, lawn mowers, tires and more. The City's Neighborhood Cleanup Program provides three pickups per calendar year for all residents at no additional charge.
Folsom named host city for America's premier cycling race
Folsom will be a host city for the 2014 Amgen Tour of California, the largest professional bike race in North America.  The race features world-class cyclists from around the globe, including Olympic medalists, World Champions and top Tour de France contenders.

Thanksgiving Feast for the Zoo Animals, Turkey Trot in the Parkway, Historic Home Tours, tree lighting festivities, Sutter Street Arts & Crafts Fair . . . great opportunities to come together as a community during the upcoming holiday season. 
Save the dates for local tree lightings 
Get in the holiday spirit with two Folsom  tree lighting events.  Palladio festivities begin at 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 1 (www.gopalladio.com) and Historic District holiday fun begins at 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6 (www.historicfolsom.org).
Library collecting shoes for needy
Your donation of new and almost new shoes will benefit local families in need.  Folsom Public Library is collecting shoes for kids and adults in recognition of America Recycles Day.  All shoes donated through Nov. 30 will be sent to Twin Lakes Food Bank.  Please bring donations to Folsom's Library, 411 Stafford St.
