Traffic alert: Folsom Lake Crossing  weekday closures begin Oct. 24
Folsom Lake Crossing Road between Natoma Street and Auburn-Folsom Road will be closed from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. weekdays beginning Oct. 24.  The temporary closures are intended to protect the public during blasting to excavate portions of the new Folsom Dam auxiliary spillway.  Map, video & more
Got drugs? Dispose safely Oct. 26 
Prevent pill abuse and theft by ridding your home of potentially dangerous expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs on Saturday, Oct. 26. Bring your excess medications to the Folsom Police Station, 46 Natoma St., between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. for disposal. The service is free and anonymous, no questions asked. Better alternative than flushing
Andersen now Deputy City Manager
Folsom City Manager Evert Palmer recently announced the promotion of Elaine Andersen to the position of Deputy City Manager. Andersen, a long-time Folsom resident, previously served as Assistant to the City Manager.
Where to see 1,000 pumpkins, jousters,  Vets Parade & more 
Folsom's Renaissance Faire has jousters, crafts, entertain-ment,music and more on Oct. 19 & 20.  Sutter Street will be closed to traffic for the family friendly Night of 1,000 Pumpkins on Friday night, Oct. 25.

Folsom's popular Wild Nights & Holiday Lights event needs volunteer decorators and carolers. Sign up with family and friends to decorate a section of the Zoo or a tree in the enchanted forest. Bring your caroling group and sing your favorite holiday songs.
