  Michael Flentje Managing Director, Public Sector Practice with PriceWaterhouseCoopers, discusses "employee engagement" i and how successful organizations in the public and private sectors practice it.


Flentje has over thirty-five years experience in commercial and public sector delivering large scale human capital solutions.  Earlier in his career he served as a nuclear submarine force officer in the U.S. Navy.  He held positions specializing in personnel training, maintenance, and operations of highly complex and integrated shipboard systems, including a tour as Commanding Officer of the Navy's most advanced fast-attack nuclear submarine. He is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy and the Navy's postgraduate nuclear engineering program.  We discussed:

  • The importance of employee engagement and what it is  
  • Are "best places to work" the best at employee engagement?
  • Areas leaders should focus on to enhance engagement
  • How you measure the impact, financial and non-financial, on employee engagement programs
  • Tools and resources that can be used to support employee engagement
