Note From The President
Hello VFES Families,
With the first few weeks of school under our collective belts and cooler nights, I hope all is well with your VFES students.

As we all settle into our routines, I'd like to remind you of a helpful website that you should visit as you plan out the rest of your fall schedules. The T/E School District maintains a bulletin board pinned full of helpful resources for families in our community. Please check it out at www.tesd.net, click on "Community" and "T/E-Bulletin Board" will be on the drop down menu. I still remember all my phone calls to neighbors and new friends trying to figure out what was what in our new neighborhood. "Who's on first? What's on second?" And how do I pronounce .......

We are participating in a new fundraiser this year called Elementary Connections. Elementary Connections is a customized resource guide that we think you will find useful. The best part of this fundraiser is that it's sponsor supported so you don't have to buy a thing. We encourage you to support the sponsors and thank them for their participation.
Be sure to look for your copy of the Little Yellow Book in your child's book bag today, September 20th.

The Publishing Center Needs YOU!
The VFE Publishing Center allows students in 1st through 4th grades to publish stories of their creation. The Publishing Center, which is staffed 100% by parent volunteers, published over 600 books last year. In order to continue offering this wonderful program, we need your help! In addition, volunteer hours are flexible and based on your schedule. We are currently seeking volunteers for: Front & Back Covers; Typing/Editing; Proofreading; Titles & Laminating Covers; About the Author; and Assembling the Books. For more information about volunteering in the Publishing Center, please contact Tarin Cataldo at vfepubcntr@tesd.net.

Important Food Allergy Information
As you may know, our District continues to see an increase in the prevalence of students with life threatening food allergies. The focus of our allergy management continues to be prevention, education, awareness, communication and emergency response. Recognizing the risk of accidental exposure to allergens through cross contamination, the District is modifying our existing practices with respect to food in the elementary schools.
Please take a moment to read the following documents for more information about the revisions to our food allergy practices.
