Spring Fair Fiesta Was A Huge Success & Thank You So Much!
If you attended the Spring Fair on May 3rd, you know what an amazing event it was! We had a huge turnout and there were tons of games and events for all ages. Co-chairs Jennifer and Brendan Arnott once again outdid themselves and threw a super organized and super fun Fiesta!. The PTO cannot thank them enough for their hard work on the Spring Fair for the past two years. It was another great job!

Spring Fair Thank You
We would like to thank all of those
in the VFES community who helped to make our 2013 Spring Fair Fiesta such a successful evening. First, a
very big "THANK YOU" to all of the parents, teachers, CHS and VFMS students, our local Boy Scouts and everyone else who volunteered at the Spring Fair. The success of VFES' Spring Fair strongly depends on volunteer turn out. Spring Fair would not be possible without volunteers to sell tickets, run games, paint faces, glitter tattoos, serve dinner, and participate in so many other Spring Fair activities. Their time and enthusiasm are invaluable.
The Spring Fair Committee is very grateful to the VFES PTO for their input as we planned the VFES Fiesta. PTO President Raquel Hunter worked right alongside us throughout the planning process, and PTO Treasurer Natalie Sudall and Assistant Treasurer, Sharon Forge, worked hard behind the scenes. The Spring Fair Committee also wishes to thank Mrs. Wills and all of the office staff for their support and assistance, as well as VFES teachers, many of whom generously gave of their time for both Teacher Time raffles and volunteering at the Spring Fair.
Thanks to T/E's Custodial staff, from VFES's own wonderful custodians to the district level. The Custodial Staff makes sure that we are prepared to put on a great Fair, whether it is going to be inside or out. Special thanks to Mrs. McQuate, Mrs. Braun and their 4th grade art students, who really showed us their talents in the painting of the 4th grade sponge toss. Thanks also to Janet Shaw, Susan Guy's mom, for putting together our ever popular Grab Bags and to Jose Ibarra for sharing his many talents by making this year's potty toss and to Jose and our local Boy Scouts for organizing and manning Bottle Rockets at the Fair!
A big round of applause goes to our Spring Fair Committee who devoted their time and creativity to planning the Spring Fair. Sharing ideas and working together they rolled out a Spring Fair that was fun and had something for everyone. A huge thank you goes to.... Help Us Give Thanks to Our VFE Staff!
Chairpersons Amanda Ivory and Pam Bennett have planned a wonderful Year-End Staff Luncheon on Wednesday, June 19th to honor the hard work our teachers and staff provide for our children throughout the school year but they'll need your help to make it a success! If you can whip up your favorite side dish or dessert specialty, or lend your helping hands for clean-up (1:30pm-2:30pm), please contact Monica Moore at vpvolunteer@vfespto.org. |
Calling All Chess Players! Fall 2013
We are looking for a parent instructor to teach chess as an after school club in the fall. The PTO has four bins full of chess sets in the PTO closet but no one to teach the club. Make some money and get to know the kids in the school. If you are interested, please contact Laura Wurzer at Vpclubs@vfespto.org. |

An Invitation from the VFMS PTO
Thursday, May 30, 2013
The transition to middle school can
be pretty scary. The school does a
great job of getting our kids ready
for the transition but who helps
the parents? The PTO, that's who!
If you have a fourth grader who will be attending Valley Forge Middle School in the Fall, the VFMS PTO would like to invite you to lunch to help you make the transition from elementary parent to middle school parent.
On Thursday, May 30, from 1:00-2:30, please join many of our current parents as we eat lunch, talk about how the PTO works at the Middle School and discuss new ideas for the coming years. For more details, and to RSVP, please click here http://vfms.ivolunteer.com/ptolunch. I hope you can make it!

We would like to thank the VFES staff for the wonderful breakfast that they made for the volunteers on Wednesday. It was a great chance to chat with the staff and relax before the PTO meeting. Thank you!
Donna Costin and Adrienne Miller did a great job co-chairing the Recess Laps program. The kids love it and so many parents volunteered to help. The PTO cannot thank you all enough for helping with this fun program. |
