The Adult Social/Silent Auction is SATURDAY NIGHT!  Walk ins welcome!
Saturday, April 6th at 6:30 PM,
Phoenixville Country Club

Grab some friends and head over to the VFES Adult Social/Silent Auction & Casino night tomorrow night.  Walk ins are welcome.  The cost is $50 per person and this year we will be accepting credit cards!

Never attended before?  The social provides a chance for you to mingle and meet other parents from VFES.  There is a 2 hour open bar and buffet dinner.  The event is dressy "casual" and you can bid on silent auction items, play casino games or just chat with friends.

Help support VFES with this great fundraiser!   We hope to see you there!
Last Day for Raffle Donations!

This is just a reminder that all classes are still collecting for the class raffle items and it is not too late to contribute (completely voluntary).  This is the last day for donations.  This is one of the most exciting parts of the fair for all of the children and they look forward to it every year.  Please consider donating.  If there are any questions contact hkelly1675@yahoo.com.

Thanks in advance for all of your support.

VFES Spring Fair Book Sale

May 3, 2013

Once again we will have a used book sale at the Spring Fair.  Please note, this year we will

be collecting both children's and adult books, CDs, DVDs and videos.  If you have any of these items to donate, please drop them off in the book box which will be located in the school lobby after spring break.  We are especially in need of chapter books suitable for our third & fourth grade students.  Many of the books that your children have outgrown will make a younger child very happy!!

  • No textbooks, magazines, periodicals, or encyclopedias.
  • Any questions please call Beth Burns (610) 407-4591 or Adrienne Miller (610) 971-1555
We will be collecting materials until the day of the fair, May 3rd.

Safety Reminder...

If your child is scheduled to ride the bus and you realize a change is needed, please do NOT attempt to pick up your child outside as the buses are loading. It is against safety protocol for the bus drivers and staff members on duty to release a child in this manner. In order to create a safe situation for students, parents/guardians must contact the main office if a change in dismissal is needed. Thank you!

Community

FLITE vs. Harlem Wizards - A Winner for All!

The Harlem Wizards came to town on March 15-16. We had a blast!  We can't imagine a better way to increase awareness of FLITE and raise money than in a gym full of loud happy kids.  You helped FLITE raise over $27,000, which will help support pre-school tuition, after-school homework clubs and other key programs so T/E students can succeed.

Thank you to all the players and volunteers who made sure this event was a success. When you look at the spectrum of teachers, administrators, and coaches from the 8 schools in our district who participated in the FLITE event, it shows an impressive commitment to education and to our children.  And thank you to everyone who came to cheer on the FLITE team while having fun and supporting the community.  We're thinking that if we do this again next year, we should include a free pair of earplugs for parents! That gym was rockin'.

T&E Care Is Looking For Kids Clothes

T&E Care is looking for donations of new or gently used clothing for infants through teens (16 years) for its upcoming Kids Clothing Grab Bag.  Items can be dropped off during the week of April 1 at any of the local schools (including ours), Play It Again Sports (Berwyn) or Doctor's Best (Berwyn).   Please only drop items off when the schools/businesses are open. Clothing for all seasons, plus good quality shoes, boots, coats, belts or other accessories will be accepted.   For a list of items we are not able to accept, and for other information, please go to www.tecare.org.   Be sure to also mark your calendars for the Grab Bag itself, April 12 (3-7) or April 13 (9-1) at St. Matthew's United Methodist Church on Walker Rd.  This fundraiser for T&E Care is a great chance for everyone to restock your kids' closets with great quality clothes.  A suggested donation of $5/bag is appreciated. Questions, please contact us at  clothes@tecare.org.

Gratitude Corner
Sarah Culbert did a great job organizing the Art Goes To School program this week.  We hope you got a chance to visit and check it out.

We also need to thank Debbie Reiner and Li-Chen Jiang for their work this year running the school store.  There are also a lot of 4th grade parents who help each week.  We appreciate your time and effort!
