A Message To The Families That Attended Family Fun Night From Raquel Hunter:

Please see the note below that I received from Mystic Drumz, the company that put on the performance in the cafeteria.  Their performer was inexperienced with large crowds and based on their promotional materials and testimonials the chairpersons and PTO expected an entirely different show from what we received:

We deeply regret the situation that occurred.  As I mentioned in my last email we will take measures to remedy the problems you experienced.

Our company takes great pride in our performers and events. Our website testimonials speak to our capability and success.

Again, we apologize for disappointing your audience.

Lorne Lampert, Mystic Drumz

Donation deadline is Monday, December 3rd

(all donations will be transported to the Toy Closet Dec 3rd)

VFES is going to kick of the holiday season by helping T & E Care stock the Toy Room for the The Winter Wonder's program at Paoli Presbyterian Church. We have been asked to help supplement the toy room with random, non-specific, both gender toys for children 5 - 8.  Toys are to be NEW and best price range is $15 and under.  Hot items are Kinex, Legos, games, arts/crafts, Disney things, and leap frog games.

We are hoping to collect 50 new toys to support this program.  If VFES can bring in more, we will certainly take everything collected and deliver to Paoli Presbyterian on December 3rd so they can set up in time for their Dec. 7th dinner.

When To Keep Your Child At Home

There are times when you may not be sure that it is necessary to keep your child home from school. Here are a few symptoms that may mean that your child is sick.

Fever

Chills

Running or inflamed eyes or nose

Rash

Abdominal pain

Vomiting

Diarrhea

Sore throat

Enlarged glands

Excessive coughing

A child should remain at home at least 24 hours with no fever or vomiting following an illness. Notify the school that your child will be absent. When your child returns to school, he/she must bring a written excuse stating the date(s), and reason for absence. This excuse must be signed by a parent or legal guardian.

By following these guidelines, you will protect not only the health of your child, but also the health of his/her classmates and the school staff.

Digital Citizenship

Students in 2nd, 3rd and 4th grades will engage in Digital Citizenship

discussions with their Guidance Counselor, and Lisa Lukens,

Teacher on Assignment for Technology (K-12), in scheduled meetings throughout the school year. Lessons have been adapted from the Common Sense Media (http://www.commonsense.org) curriculum. We

will be starting lesson for grades 3 (Talking Safely Online) and for grade 4 (Follow the Digital Trail) in November and December. Grade 2 will have their first lesson after the winter break.

Parents may review the lessons and handouts for each grade level in the Digital Citizenship section on the Parent channel on the VFE website or using this link www.tesd.net/domain/1002 of each lesson in order to continue our Digital Citizenship dialogue at home. Please be sure to review the content and objectives.

Community

The Children's Dental Clinic - Volunteers Needed

Drivers  are individuals available to 'shuttle'

students from their school to The Clinic and
back for appointments. Assistants

are trained to support the volunteer

dentists in delivery of their services. If you are interested and available to fulfill one of these valuable roles or would just like more information on the structure and mission of The Clinic, please contact Whitney Collins at [email protected]. Thank you for your interest and consideration!

The Children's Dental Clinic is a non-profit entity that provides free dental services for qualified students of the Tredyrffrin-Easttown School District. The Clinic operates out of Tredyrffrin-Easttown Middle School.

The Clinic is not financially supported by the school district. Funding comes from the community members, businesses, dentists and area Parent Teacher Organizations.

The backbone of this establishment is volunteers. There are two roles for which we need your help: driver and assistant.
