Mikey's Message to You!
Greetings!

I got off the phone a few minutes ago with a business associate and someone I have come to trust. I've been going to bed frustrated and feeling like every waking minute is a test of patience. Though I will admit, in the grand scheme of things, my complaint emails aren't any higher than normal ...Continue Reading»
Our Happy Heart's Afghan Challenge is Over
Did you have the chance to look over the nearly 400 Afghans of the Happy Hearts Challenge on Flickr

We at the Crochet Crowd think that this challenge prove to be the most amazing and awesome creative challenge that people have entered to date. We are amazed with the colour vision that everyone has come up with. The creative thought is so inspirational. Even the layouts of the squares give each afghan artistry and imaginative concepts. Just a WOW! Grab a cup of jo and take your time browsing through the gallery.

Winner in the Computer Generated Random Draw is Mary Gainer from Texas. Congratulations! You will be receiving a gift bag with lots of Red Heart Yarn and a few little extras. Thank you for participating.
However, the true winners are everyone that entered. First your creativity should ALL be prized with the sense of accomplishment and second your  excitement to create such interesting afghans with each being so different is just outstanding!

You can still add to our Gallery if you are still working on yours and didn't get it done on time. We still like to continue to showcase our communities hard work and sense of accomplishments.
Sharing our Skills and Being Proud of What We Create

I am really discouraged in reading comments and my inbox for people who don't participate in our challenges because they make statements like, "I never win anything so I am not going to bother!" That's a really pessimistic view and the point of the challenges is definitely being missed. I was going through comments and ... Continue reading...Continue Reading»

What's the New Challenge?
What many of you have been waiting for. What is the new Challenge? This month is a simple project. quick and easy. It officially starts on March 15th, 2014. We are still in process of filming and preparing for this challenge.

Though we could tell you the pattern and etc, we need to wait to ensure that ALL of our members have the resources which include the video tutorial. Chances are, we will release it slightly early for those who are eager to hook up something really fun!

It's a quick project and many people will probably do multiple.

Stay tuned for details next week!

Create your own Visual Style, Bring it Home to the Heartland with Lion Brand Yarns
Diva Dan has been hard at work Playing with Lion Brand Yarn.

Check out what he did on the weekend.

Two very quick Projects

One is a Crochet Lace Cowl using  1 Ball of Heartland Redwood. Heartland being such a nice soft yarn, it feels so wonderful to wear as a cowl. It has a nice shine to it as well.

The other and if you like bulky yarns, this Hometown USA Wildcats Crochet Lacy Scarf was to 2 row pattern and 3 balls. It took him just under 3 hrs. Winter is still here, so wrapping up in one of these still sounds like a fabulous idea.
