I struggle with putting colours together due to myself wanting everything to match and follow a pattern. I really struggle with the entire concept. I saw this gorgeous scarf in a free pattern on RedHeart.com that was called Loops & Fringe Scarf. The original design is a solid colour. I'm the queen of seeing milestones ...Continue Reading»

This Month's Challenge is Almost Over
Only 3 days left to enter in the Afghan challenge.

So far, over 293 entries. Will we make it to 350 by February 28th 11:59pm Eastern time?

We are amazed with the colour vision that everyone has come up with. The creative thought is so inspirational. Even the layouts of the squares give each afghan artistry and imaginative concepts.

Well done for those that have entered. Good Luck and remember it is about sharing our creativity, work-person-ship and love for crochet for millions to see.

Finished Projects will go to our Flickr Page and 1 Lucky Winner will receive a free bag of Red Heart Yarn Goodies

A Special Thank you to an Anonymous giver from Leesburg GA. She sent three bags of Sashay yarn to give to our next 3 Challenger winners. She writes "I'm sending the enclosed yarn in hopes that you will include it in your next three prize giveaway bags. It is my anonymous way of saying thanks to all the "Crowders" that post amazing projects and keep bringing me inspiration".

We at The Crochet Crowd say Thank you for your kind donation and yes we will be adding them to the bags because IT IS the crowders that make The Crochet Crowd Special with all their Inspiration.
What's the New Challenge?
Next week we will be announcing our next Crochet Challenge,  it will be fun, a bit of a challenge and a quick project, you can make a number of them and enter. Once we get the projects finalized and the videos edited, you can get started.

The New Challenge opens on March 15th, 2014 but we will announce the project early in case you need to order yarn. The project will end April 10th, 2014
Create your own Visual Style, Let it be Unique with Lion Brand

I was playing with a yarn called Unique by Lion Brand. The colour used in the scarf I crocheted was called Garden. Colour transitioning yarns are one of my favourite yarns to work with. Patricia did her first project using the Fettuccini Yarn from Lion Brand. She made a bowl and that it worked so fast, she loves it! Thanks for Sharing! I am sure that more patterns will come shortly for this yarn.
Wendy was crocheting with wire to make this bracelet. Crochet with Wire is very easy and fun for the teenagers to do. Here is a Video of Mikey teaching how to make one of his bracelets using wire.
