WE HAVE A NEW NAME!

At the Conference of Southwest Foundations' meeting on April 9, 2014, in Denver, we announced the organization is now Philanthropy Southwest.

"While our previous name has a great legacy, we long ago moved away from a sole emphasis on an annual conference, from which the association garnered its name," said John Brown, Philanthropy Southwest Board President and Executive Director of Windgate Charitable Foundation. "As our association has grown and the role of philanthropy has evolved, our leadership agreed the time was right to restate our mission and take on a new name that better reflects the wide range of services we provide and our members' passion for advancing the public good."

The mission of Philanthropy Southwest is to actively promote opportunities to exchange ideas, build relationships and advance philanthropic excellence.

"Our members are enthusiastic about the name change and our revitalized mission," said Lucille DiDomenico, long-time Executive Director of the association. "We invite you to visit www.philanthropysouthwest.org, our new website, to read our newly crafted Statement of Principles, learn more about our services, and join us in celebrating the new Philanthropy Southwest."

WE HAVE A NEW WEBSITE!
Together with our new name, we have a new website - www.philanthropysouthwest.org. Here, you will find the new Knowledgebase, a robust resource that is contributed to and shared among all regional associations of grantmakers across the country. The site also provides information about our annual conference and all Philanthropy Southwest-sponsored events, together with foundation news and member profiles and stories. We have further strengthened the government relations section with legislative updates and more resources available for your use. Be sure, too, to check out the videos of presentations from our mid year meeting (see below).

We encourage members of Philanthropy Southwest to create an account on the new website. It's easy! To learn how, visit our Welcome page.

We encourage you to go online, browse through the full website, and let us know what you think - this resource was developed for you!
WE HAVE THE SAME STRONG COMMITMENT TO OUR MEMBERS!
Our long history means we know how to provide trustees and foundation staff with timely information and connect colleagues to exchange ideas and build relationships, helping them to succeed in their work and advance philanthropic excellence. PHILANTHROPY SOUTHWEST LAUNCHES NEW MEMBERSHIP CAMPAIGN

Through the Each One Reach One campaign, each member of Philanthropy Southwest is being asked to reach out to a colleague in at least one non-member foundation to convey the benefits of being a member of our association. Each member of Philanthropy Southwest's robust network - some 1,600 trustees and 700 staff from 230 private, community, operating and corporate foundations that conduct grantmaking in the southwestern U.S. - has a unique network. We want to include the voices and insights of others from your network who you believe can help to guide, protect, and strengthen philanthropy in our region. To learn more about the campaign, and resources available to assist you, visit the Each One Reach One page on www.philanthropysouthwest.org (log in required).
