Message from the Director

Lo-Res Director Coleman

The North Texas Tollway Authority Business Diversity department assists disadvantaged, minority and woman-owned business enterprises and small business enterprises in competing for business with the NTTA.

Last year, the NTTA reported its highest level of D/W/MBE participation - 25.1 percent of the total Authority spend.

Our goal is to ensure that NTTA procurement opportunities are shared with the vending community within NTTA's member counties Collin, Dallas, Denton, and Tarrant counties. Through relationships with various trade associations, industry and advocacy groups and a number of diversity programs, we are able to engage and inform the D/W/MBE community.

We look forward to a new 2014-16 Relationships and Opportunities Advancing Diversity Program class (details below), which began in January. The current class of 15 companies is the largest since the ROAD Program began in 2010.

Please visit our website www.ntta.org and find upcoming opportunities for all categories, as well as the NTTA's construction letting schedule.  For questions regarding all NTTA procurements email the Procurement Department: bidpurchasing@ntta.org.

Should you have any questions or comments, we would be delighted to hear from you. You may contact the NTTA Business Diversity Department at (214) 461-2007 or email vendoroutreach@ntta.org.

Or you can always contact me directly.

The NTTA is open for business.

NTTA HONORS 2011-13 ROAD PROGRAM GRADUATES

NTTA proudly presented its second Relationships and Opportunities Advancing Diversity (ROAD) program graduation ceremony March 20. NTTA honored the 2011-13 ROAD program participants. NTTA's Vice Chairman Bill Moore, Director George "Tex" Quesada and Business Diversity Advisory Council Chairman John Martinez-D., hosted this special event.

The ROAD Program seeks to promote and facilitate ongoing relationships between prime contractors and consultants to foster opportunities for D/M/WBEs to participate in contracts with the NTTA and other North Texas entities.

"NTTA is a role model for other agencies to promote the growth of up and coming small businesses," said AP Engineering President Anuj Patel.

NTTA Chief Financial Officer Horatio Porter thanked all the firms for their participation and sharing their experiences at the event.

The program fosters expanded access to resources, a broader scope of services, deeper technical knowledge, and improved business management and operation processes by partnering with larger, more established firms offering similar services.

NTTA SELECTS 2014-16 ROAD PROGRAM PARTICIPANTS

The NTTA announced the participants of its 2014-16 ROAD Program Jan. 15, in a continuing effort to build partnerships that strengthen capacity and promote diverse participation in NTTA contracting opportunities.

Through these ROAD partnerships, D/M/WBEs have opportunities to develop their skills. The prime contracting firms often benefit from the engagement of D/M/WBEs on key projects. Partnering with smaller firms allows prime contractors to build relationships that enrich their pool of sub-contractors for present and future endeavors.

"The second class of the NTTA ROAD Program demonstrated the strength of mentor/protégée programs with a number of successful relationships in a variety of disciplines," said NTTA Business Diversity Director Anthony Coleman. "We expect the third class to develop an even greater array of successful relationships that will ultimately benefit NTTA's service delivery with a broader pool of qualified construction and professional firms."

Below is a list of 2014- 16 class of participants, which has expanded to 15 pairings.
