Summer is Here - How Can the Person with Dementia Successfully Enjoy It?

 

Summer is the perfect time to enjoy your favorite parks, vacation spots, beaches, and other places.  But an outing can be difficult for the person with dementia.  Careful pre-planning  can help make it successful. 

 

This includes things like ensuring the person stays hydrated and other safety considerations.  Also, keeping things simple and predictable.

What to Make of Touted Memory Loss Remedies  
 
New proposed treatments for memory loss, such as vitamins, eating certain foods, or avoiding certain things, are often in the news.  A patient and family dealing with dementia are vulnerable, as they seek anything that might help.
