The SCL Savings Toolbox: Premier Cost Containment Options

Over the past several months Script Care has been adding expertly designed new cost containment programs to our toolbox. You may have heard of these plan design options, but how do they help your plan save money?

Preferred Formulary
Script Care's Premier Plus Formulary provides an added level of savings opportunity for clients looking to maximize their cost containment initiatives. Through a more precise formulary we are able to drive greater generic utilization, saving the plan money. Also, for the instances in which brand name medications are obtained, this formulary design is able to receive higher rebates (which are passed to the client) to offset those brand costs.

Select Networks
Script Care's Select Network design is unique in our ability to customize inclusion/exclusion based on current member utilization. Our provider relations team identifies the most commonly used pharmacies and designs a network to minimize member disruption; there is no contractual requirement to exclude specific chain pharmacies and actual design is based on existing member preferences and activity.

Talk to your account manager to discover what impact these tools could have on your plan design's savings. (800) 880-9902

It's National Immunization Awareness Month!
We all need shots (also called vaccinations or immunizations) to help protect us from serious diseases. To help keep our communites safe, Script Care is proudly participating in National Immunization Awareness Month #NIAM15.

Shots can prevent serious diseases like the flu, measles, and pneumonia. It's important to know which shots you need and when to get them.

"Vaccines provide important protection against many serious illnesses, some of which can be life threatening. The protection provided is not only for yourself, but extends to your family and others in the community who may not have had the opportunity or ability to be vaccinated themselves."

-Derek Sachitano, PharmD, R.Ph., Director of Clinical Services - Managed Care, Script Care, Ltd.

Everyone age 6 months and older needs to get a flu vaccine every year. Other shots work best when they are given at certain ages.

Talk to your doctor or nurse to make sure that everyone in your family gets the shots they need. You can also follow @ScriptCareLtd on Twitter for valuable #NIAM15 updates!
