- Evidence-based tools for assessing adverse effects, plus patient and caregiver safety tips, including safe storage and disposal.

Ten Steps Forward - Building Momentum on the Baby-Friendly Pathway in Illinois
Presented by the Illinois Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics

This conference is for anyone in Illinois who is working on, or interested in pursuing Baby-Friendly designation for their hospital, or who is interested in supporting Baby-Friendly in their community. Follow this link to go directly to the registration page: www.tinyurl.com/TenStepsForwardIL
Thanks to funding from the Illinois Department of Public Health's We Choose Health Initiative, registration for this conference is only $10 which is a fee to cover lunch and refreshments. A $100 education stipend is available to a limited number of participants on a first-come, first-served basis, so please register quickly if you are interested in receiving a stipend. Please see the registration form for more information about eligibility for the stipend, a conference agenda and speaker information. At this time, we are asking organizations to limit registration to two representatives per organization.
Almost half of Illinois' maternity hospitals are in the Baby-Friendly pathway. This conference will serve as a valuable opportunity to gain resources, share strategies and learn more about implementing the Ten Steps to Baby-Friendly and to network with others in our state who are working on Baby-Friendly designation.
Presentation topics include: The Latest Updates about Baby-Friendly in Illinois, Strategies for physician engagement, Training staff on Baby-Friendly practices, Education and community support for breastfeeding, Skin-to-skin and rooming-in, and more!
2014 ICAAP Annual Education Conference
September 19-20, 2014 Hyatt Lisle - Lisle, IL
Registration is now open for the 2014 ICAAP Annual Educational Conference, scheduled for September 19-20 at the Hyatt Lisle in Lisle, IL. The 2014 agenda includes keynote sessions such as Dr. Bradley Stolbach discussing his work in treating children and families who have experienced trauma and Dr. Niranjan Karnik discussing mental health in the general pediatric practice.

Additionally, the inaugural H. Garry Gardner Memorial Lecture will be held on Friday, September 19, 2014 from 6-8pm. Co-sponsored by the Illinois Academy of Family Physicians, the H. Garry Gardner Memorial Lecture is included with registration for the Annual Educational Conference.
