IAFP Seeks Family Physicians to Serve as Speakers for Upcoming DOT Medical Examiner Training Programs
The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration has established a National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners (NRCME) with requirements that medical examiners who conduct physical examinations for interstate commercial drivers must pass a certification prior to May 21, 2014.
The IAFP will be holding training courses throughout Illinois in the spring in the Chicago western suburbs, Peoria or Springfield, Rockford, and Carbondale. We are looking for 2-3 physicians per site that could serve as speakers. The training course is already developed. If you have already completed a DOT training course and/or are part of the National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners and are interested in teaching, please contact Kate Valentine, Vice President of Education and Meetings, at kvalentine@iafp.com.
Need to complete a training course to become a Certified Medical Examiner? Keep an eye open for emails from IAFP with upcoming training dates and locations!
