June 2016

Jeff Rector, HOA President
To quote one of my favorite Fall Out Boy songs: "Thanks for the memories!" Our family was recently presented with an amazing opportunity to head towards Boulder and begin another chapter in our lives. Heritage Greens has etched so many wonderful memories for Val, Keaton, Carsen and myself. First swim teams, holiday parades, socials with our neighbors, the "gang" of 13 year olds trolling the hood, Bingo night at Lenski, and constantly finding kids belly laughing in the backyard. We've been truly blessed and I know so many friends will remain in touch for a lifetime.

It's often not until you search elsewhere that you realize how good you have it. After looking for our new home, I must confirm what we thought before: This neighborhood is one in a million! To be in walking distance to Golf, a World Class fitness and tennis facility at Lifetime, our incredible pool and community area, our daughters dance studio at Rhapsody, great food/libations, and even a McDonalds ☺ is almost impossible to replicate. Most HOA's charge at least $100/month with a fraction or none of the amenities we have here, so please support the volunteers should they choose to invest a bit more in ensuring Heritage Greens remains the most desirable neighborhood for years to come.

Thanks to Shawn McDermott, Dan McGowan and Tracy Andersen for entrusting me with the opportunity to continue the great history of volunteers on your board for 4 years. I am most proud of our unwavering vision, consistent enforcement, and the highest subsequent property values in neighborhood history. I am most humbled by the volunteers that have served with me and their countless hours of selfless service and friendships. With my departure, I am thrilled to announce that the board unanimously voted for Ricki Kelly to assume my role as President for the remainder of 2016 until normal elections are held. All other board members will remain in their roles alongside Ricki. As of mother who reached out to me to volunteer while balancing a family with two young twins and a career with the University of Denver, Ricki exemplifies the spirit of our volunteers and is well qualified to lead this HOA moving forward. Please welcome her with open arms!

Please join us on Monday, June 27th at 7PM for our board meeting where we will formally implement this change, show your support for Ricki, and perhaps add your name to the list for a future role. I promise it will be one of the most rewarding activities you do. So proud (and thankful) to have served and been neighbors with all of you!

Jeff, Val, Keaton and Carsen

The Swim Season is underway! The pool heater is cranking, and the gators are having the time of their life in the pool.

Our Gator coaches are doing a tremendous job with our swimmers. Coaches are available to give private swim lessons to ALL Heritage Greens kids. They are excellent resources for improving strokes and water safety skills. Half hour lessons are $25 each or 6 lessons for $100 (paid directly to the coach). For coach bios and contact information, please click here

We are appreciative and grateful for all of the support, encouragement and thoughtfulness the Heritage Greens Neighborhood provides the Gator Swim Team. Board Comment
The HG Board would like to acknowledge Shawn Mc Dermott, a perpetual HG volunteer, HG Metro Dist representative, former HG Board member, Vocal Activist, ect.....for his help on several issues:

A) the stack stone wall inside the tennis gate is being repaired today;
B) there are landscaping upgrades around the pool building taking place next week;
C) the main sprinkler line repairs near the Colorado entrance are complete;
D the flowers at the Colorado entrance will be planted; and
E) the city has performed some temporary repairs of the gutters and street at the three way stop at the pool.  We are on the list for permanent repairs and replacement next year due to budget issues.

YES.....it take a lot of work, not many accolades, appreciation, ect. But that's what it takes to keep HG a neighborhood one that GREAT families, like yours, want to live in! Consider volunteering, it's rewarding.

John Nielsen, HG Board
