August 2015

Perhaps you were as impressed as I at how many outstanding future leaders live in our neighborhood in the recent Life on the Links publication. The issue showcased our many high school seniors and where they were heading off to college this month as they begin the next chapter of their lives. Join me in wishing them all the best of luck!

While dropping off a child at college can be heart wrenching, sending our younger K-12 kiddos back for the fall brings great joy to many parents and a cause for celebration after three months of extensive 'quality time". What better way to celebrate than to join your neighbors at the Cheeseburger in Paradise party on August 22nd? (More details below).

We are updating our website with new photos that depict Heritage Greens and all it has to offer. If you have some great recent photos of the neighborhood and our residents that capture this spirit, please send them to Kristen Dimig at HGNewsWeb@gmail.com and post them to our Facebook page.

As you browse through this month's newsletter, you'll see more great updates on approved materials for homeowners, which attests to the progressive approach of the ACC and evolving our community for the future. Waste Management has also provided residents with important contact numbers to avoid disrupted trash and recycling service going forward. One final note: we've moved our standing monthly board meetings to the 2nd Wednesday of every month beginning September 9th. Please join us and consider a rotation in serving your community.

Time to dust off the Orange and Blue gear!

HG Social - August 22

Mark your calendars and come join your neighbors at our community clubhouse with this year's August Social event, The Cheese Burger in Paradise party on Saturday August 22nd, 7-10 PM.  Put on some shorts, your best Hawaiian shirt, and of course don't forget to slide your feet into a comfy pair of flip flops.  There will be live music, drinks, cheese burgers, and plenty of socializing and laughter.  The cost $10 per person so start making plans with your neighbors and be there!  Please RSVP by August 20th.  Your payment serves as your RSVP.  Checks can be dropped off at 7744 S Elm Ct or you can pay online here.

Covenants Corner Part I - TREX Fencing

The Heritage Greens HOA Board has approved the use of TREX fencing.  For more information, please access the HG Website and check out the updated Design Guidelines.  The revised Design Guidelines were adopted by the board in July and became effective August 1, 2015.  Now you have even more options to make your property beautiful!

Covenants Corner Part II - Weeds

A new and updated version of the Rules and Regulations of Heritage Greens,
effective August 1, 2015 is now available on the HG websight. In the Owner Maintenance Rules: Page 1, the subject of "WEEDS" is specifically addressed three times in the first three subtitles on page 2. This is the time of the year that weeds seem to love Heritage Greens. Be a good neighbor, pull yours. Our goal is to have all homeowners maintain their landscape and exteriors of their homes in a first class, residential condition. This is also spelled out in this section of the Rules & Regulations. Enjoy the rest of the summer!

John Nielsen, HG Secretary

Covenants Corner Part III - Trash Cans

recycling_girl.jpg Trash is picked up by Waste Management every Monday.  Trash cans are not to be brought to the curb until after 6PM on Sunday.

Per our covenants and the Rules and Regulations of Heritage Greens 2015, "Trash & Recycling Containers must be stored out of sight from the street".  That means if your neighbors can see where you store your trash/recycling cans, you are in violation of these rules. Please step up and correct this situation as we are all in this together, we want to make this a GREAT neighborhood to reside in! First impressions are lasting impressions...

Rules & Regulations of Heritage Greens 2015 can be found here on the website.

South Suburban Golf Course Clubhouse

golf5.jpg South Suburban Parks and Recreation has hired Barker Rinker Seacat Architecture of Denver to develop a master plan for South Suburban Golf Course Clubhouse.  The intent of the master plan is to identify renovations to the clubhouse that will meet the current and future needs of our golfers and other user groups.  Two public input meetings were held on July 15, and were well attended by golfers and golf course neighbors.  At the meetings, Heritage Greens residents expressed a desire for a connection from Linksview Park to the golf course.  If residents have other suggestions or comments, please contact Melissa Reese-Thacker, Senior Park Planner at melissar@sspr.org or 303-483-7023

South Suburban has also hired Phelps Atkinson Golf Course Design to re-master plan the South Suburban Golf Course.  Public input meetings for this project will be held in the coming months.  More information will be provided as it becomes available.

Thank you,

Heritage Greens Gators

The Gators had a fabulous 2015 season. Please join us in thanking Nancy Seavall for her 2 years of service as Swim Team Parent Rep.  She dedicated countless hours to the team and we are forever grateful!  Suzette Loving will be joining Kristen Dimig as Parent Rep for the 2016 season and we can't wait for another Gator-Great season.

2016 is an exciting year for the Gators as we anticipate the Summer Olympic Games featuring our favorite Gator, Missy Franklin.  She was recently interviewed by 9 News and gave a shout out to Heritage Greens.  You can view the full interview by clicking here.  We are so proud of Missy!  She demonstrates Gator Greatness in and out of the water and is a fantastic role model for all athletes.

GO GATORS!

Sustainability
Thank you to Anne Dresser Kocur of LIV Sotheby's International Realty for sponsoring the community garage sale.  We had over 50 families participate and 25 homes donate their unsold goods to Lupus.  Lupus even had to go back for a second truck!  Hopefully people got rid of a lot of stuff - "One man's junk is another's treasure!"
