Greetings!
I can't believe December is here! As we celebrate the end-of-year holidays, we also wrap up another year for the HOA board.
Please plan to join us at our annual HOA meeting this Wednesday, December 4 at the Heritage Greens Community Room. We will have a social hour starting at 6 p.m. and will begin the meeting at 7 p.m. We will be voting on the board members for the 2013-2014 year as well as review the operating budgets. The HOA will provide drinks and snacks. All residents are welcome and encouraged to attend.Click to see the 2014 ballot with the volunteers we have received so far (this may change before Wednesday). We will be voting on five executive board positions as well as the architectural control chair (non-voting). The other positions are appointed.
We are still looking for a few v olunteers. We need one more person to volunteer for the executive board. We also need a couple volunteers for the appointed positions - specifically for the community room and social events. If you are interested in these positions please contact me directly. We would love to have more residents get involved in our neighborhood.
See you on Wednesday.

The 2014 ratings just came out this week. If you did not get a chance last month, please take a moment to read through the new rules and procedures for Heritage Greens league tennis. This concerns anyone that is already playing league tennis in the neighborhood and anyone that would like to play on a HG team. Please read these procedures carefully. Can you believe it is time to start planning for the 2014 Gator Swim Team season?
New Families
For the new families in our neighborhood, the Gators would like to extend a
special welcome and invite anyone interested in joining the swim team to contact Holly Malcolm at
Coaches
The Gators are excited to announce their new Head Coach, Nick Levine. Nick joins us from Greenwood Athletic Club.
"It's exciting to get back into neighborhood swimming where it begins for nearly every swimmer. I started swimming with The Knolls which was the beginning of a long and everlasting swimming career. I have been coaching for 14 years starting with CCV which led to my first USA Swim position as an assistant coach at CAC. I am now the Head Coach at Greenwood Athletic and Tennis Club for the Greenwood Tiger Sharks. My passion of coaching and open water swimming has continued throughout my life where I have successfully swam the English Channel twice, Alcatraz, Maui and many more. In addition to coaching a USA swim team I also coach triathletes and open water swimmers, helping prepare them for the unpredictable waters that lay ahead. Swimming is a true passion of mine that I continue to coach and to be taught. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to share with the Heritage Green Gators part of my love of life!" Nick Levine
Returning for her 2nd season is Rachel Getz. We are so excited to have her back as an Assistant Swim Coach. Her bright smile, unlimited hugs and positive attitude are what make her an incredible Gator Coach.
Do you know someone or are you that person who has what it takes to be a Heritage Greens Gators Swim Team coach? Coaching positions are available for this summer's swim team. We are looking for responsible, energetic, creative people to take on this important role. A Gator coach must have fundamental knowledge of swimming, good communication skills and be willing to be a role model for the kids of Heritage Greens. The job runs from mid-May to mid-July and is an intense, exciting and rewarding experience. Interviews will be conducted on December 21st between 2:30 and 4:30 p.m. If this date and time frame does not work for you, please let me know and I will make other arrangements. Click Here
to review the HG Swim Team Coaching Responsibilities and Expectations.
2013 Coaches please contact me if you are interested in returning for the 2014 Season. Coaching applicants should contact Holly Malcolm @ 303-808-8682 or hollymalcolm@comcast.net.
Gator Pre-Team
Our Gator Pre-Team has been a great success with our young swimmers and their families and we will be offering it again this year. The Pre-Team allows an opportunity for kids who are not quite ready for swim competition to develop their swimming skills and participate in the fun of the neighborhood swim team. The goal of the program is to prepare kids to move up to the competition team by the following season or within the season if they are ready. The pre-team swimmers will enjoy all of the fun of being a Gator, but will participate in customized practices and will not be expected to compete in meets. More information on the Pre-team can be found on the team website.
We are looking forward to a fun and exciting summer with all of you.
Go Gators!

The youth at St. Thomas More Parish want to thank the residents of Heritage Greens for their generous support in the past years. Your support makes it possible to hold this event for 4- and 5-year-old students from Denver Public Schools.
On December 10, hundreds of young children will come to St. Thomas More for a day of celebration and fun. The children will enjoy a puppet show, face painting, lunch, a magic show, balloon animals, coloring, playing, and, of course, a visit and gift from Santa Claus. In the past, Heritage Greens has been a generous sponsor to help with the cost of putting on such an event. Food, entertainment, supplies and gifts (approximately $25 for each child) need to be purchased or donated. Remember, for many of these children, this will be some of the few gifts they receive. Any donation you could make would be appreciated. Please mail your tax-deductible check, payable to St. Thomas More Church, to 8035 S. Quebec St., Centennial, Colorado 80112, attention David Tschumper. The party is December 10, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in McClellan Hall. If you would like to come and help the teenagers of STM, or make cookies, or serve lunch, please contact David Tschumper in the Youth Ministry Office at youth@stthomasmore.org. If you have any further questions, please call Shari Lamb, a HG resident, at 303-740-7897. |
