Here's to daylight savings time! Literally overnight, neighbors garage doors begin to stay open a bit longer, front lawns become a place for getting caught up with fellow hibernators, and the sound of the kids playing can be heard until dusk.
Speaking of getting everyone out to kick off spring, we hope you were able to join us at Casino Night in the community room. It was a great event! I want to extend a special thanks to the tremendous number of homeowners that are aligning with the Architectural Control Committee in advance of their renovations this year. It's fun to see so many gorgeous approved roofs, patios and other improvements that are increasing all of our property values and further enhancing the character of this outstanding community. If you need the project approval form, click here. We need a welcome committee! Years ago we had a group of volunteers that welcomed new neighbors when they moved into the neighborhood. Over the years that has disappeared but I think it would be nice to get it started again. The welcome committee would drop off a little something for the new family and let them know how to get involved in the neighborhood. If you are interested, please contact me at HGPres@gmail.com. As a heads up, we are finalizing a neighborhood survey this month to send to all homeowners in May. The goal is to ensure the HOA's focus remains aligned with the needs of homeowners. Be on the lookout and we'll send more details in the May letter. As always, we want to invite anyone who's interested to attend our April Board Meeting on Thursday, April 11 at 7 pm in the community room. The 2013 annual plan will be posted that night and please email me with any questions or comments you might have. Go Rockies! |

Website Features - Teen Services & Find a Sitter
| |
Do you have some teens, tweens or college age kids who want to earn some extra money this summer? Maybe they want to mow lawns, water flowers and pick up newspapers when neighbors are out of town, clean trash cans or run errands. They can list their service under a new feature on the website called TEEN SERVICES. Check it out! And if you need some help, hire a local teen! This is not the place for babysitters. If your child wants to babysit, house sit or pet sit - check out the FIND A SITTER section. Your kids can post what they do, what they charge and when they available. Give it a try! And when you need sitter - hire a neighbor! |
Tennis Court and Volleyball Reservation Online
| |
Now you can reserve a tennis court or the volleyball court online. Visit our website at www.heritagegreens.org, log in (if needed) and go to the Tennis, VB & Community Room Reservations tab. From there choose a court to see the calendar of when the court is available or reserved. You can put in a reservation by just clicking the calendar when you would like to play. It's easy.
It is very important to use the court when you reserve it or delete your online reservation if you can not use it. We want to be sure it is available to other residents. |
|
Tennis Season Begins
| |
The weather is getting warmer and the courts are getting busy. As mentioned previously in the newsletter and email blast, there is a NEW RESERVATION SYSTEM. Sign up sheets will be not be posted at the courts anymore. It is very easy, but it is a change and we want to transition as smoothly as possible. Click to read the Tennis Court Reservation Policy. If you have any questions regarding the reservation system, please email Marty Smith at mlsmiff@msn.com or Diane Liberty at familyliberty@yahoo.com.
Please remember that there is no cleaning service at the courts! We rely on everyone to help empty the smaller trash cans on the courts into the bigger ones located outside the court fence. Please clean up after yourselves (especially league players) when using the tables next to court 3. Also, please push the chairs back up under the table to protect the cushions in case of rain.
Our facility is wonderful and we need everyone's help to keep it looking fantastic for everyone to enjoy. Looking forward to another great year of tennis!

Neighborhood Safety
| |
- Keep doors and windows locked at all times.
- Never open the door for someone you don't know.
- Use automatic timers to turn on the lights when you and your family aren't home so that it looks like you're home.
- Don't leave a spare key under the doormat or in your mailbox.
- Keep bikes, skateboard and sports equipment inside the house or garage when you're not using them.
- Install motion detector lights around the outside of your house, including side doors, garage doors and the balcony.
- Get to know your neighbors so you can work together and look our for each other if there is any suspicious behavior going down in the 'hood.

Recycle, Reduce, Reuse
| |
ReCycle: It is time to do that yard work - aerating, power raking and trimming. Think about putting your yard trash in recyclable lawn bags or directly in your trash bin, so it will break down quicker at the dump. ReCycle: If you have an old TV - you can take it to Best Buy and they will recycle it for free. ReUse: As the spring cleaning bug hits - think about gathering your items for the neighborhood garage sale that is a few months away or donating it to a worthy cause.
