The future of CA depends on improving Latino college completion

The State of Latinos in Higher Education in California infographic thumbnai
Earlier this week we released The State of Latinos in Higher Education in California: The economic and social imperative for advancing Latino college achievement, which details how progress in Latino higher education is stalled, how the state's higher education system has failed to work for all students and the potential impact on California's competitiveness as a global economy. Latinos are quickly becoming the majority in California and alarmingly, while record numbers of Latinos are enrolling in college, few are completing their degrees.

#TransferTuesday
For years we have fought to simplify the inefficient transfer maze students are forced to face, and while progress has been made thanks to historic transfer reform legislation by Senator Alex Padilla (SB 1440 and SB 440), much remains to be done. On Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at 10:00am the Assembly Higher Education Committee is holding a hearing at Fullerton College to discuss transfer progress and the ongoing needs of California students. Our Executive Director, Michele Siqueiros, will be testifying before the committee.
