This infographic demonstrates the cost of permanent housing versus an emergency shelter bed. While an emergency shelter bed does cost significantly more to build and operate than a permanent housing unit, the real cost is the personal space.

Join the Coalition team as our new Social Inclusion Coordinator!
Reporting to the Coalition's Executive Director the Social Inclusion Coordinator will coordinate and participate in the development of a process and projects that engage people who have experienced, or are experiencing homelessness (peers) to help develop solutions to homelessness.

Coalition Mixers are an opportunity for staff from service providers to meet and learn about initiatives being undertaken at other organization working to end homelessness in our community.

This will be a speed-dating-style event where each attendee has an initiative or program they would like to share information about written on their name tag. You will have the opportunity to share information with other attendees and learn about their chosen initiative in turn. With any luck, everyone will have the opportunity to mix and mingle, sharing and learning.
**When you RSVP make sure you complete the "What would you like people to ask you about" section.**

It's time to start planning for Homelessness Action Week!
Homelessness Action Week 2015 runs from October 11 to 17 (over Thanksgiving Week). The Coalition is interested in spearheading a community-wide donation drive.
Similar to the donation drive formerly done for Project Connect, we will be asking Greater Victorians to donate much needed winter items and everyday essentials. These items will be dropped off directly to service providers participating in the donation drive.
If your organization is interested in participating in the Homelessness Action Week Donation Drive please contact Kelsi Stiles by June 19.

As a society member, you not not only be supporting the Coalition in our goal to end homelessness, you will be eligible to attend and vote at the Annual General Meeting as well as any extraordinary meetings that may be called from time to time.
