Annual Conference Keynoter Featured in Forbes
ZDoggMD, the keynote speaker for this year's Annual Conference, is featured in the latest issue of Forbes magazine. The Las Vegas-based physician will discuss and rap about physician burnout and resiliency. He will be joined by Damon Tweedy, MD, who will examine health care disparities. The conference, Sept. 23 and 24, will also feature a talent show starring MMA members; policy forums on physician-aid-in-dying and quality measurement; a poster symposium; up to 6.5 CME credits, awards, 50+ exhibitors and much more. Final Physicians' Social for the Year Set for Oct. 4 in Duluth
Following in the footsteps of the successful Physicians' Socials in Minneapolis and Rochester, the MMA is hosting an event in Duluth on Tuesday, Oct. 4, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the Harbor View Room at Fitger's, 600 E. Superior St. The event is a celebration of medicine, a thank you to members, and a welcome to new and prospective members. Hors d'oeuvres and drinks will be served. Prepare Now for New Medicare Quality Payment Program
Although the new Medicare quality payment program created by the 2015 MACRA law doesn't take effect until 2019, physician practices are urged to prepare now. Performance on quality and other metrics in 2017 will serve as the basis for Medicare payments in 2019. Final program regulations and metrics will be released later this year and could involve new or different data collection requirements as early as Jan. 1, 2017. To help members understand the new Medicare changes, the MMA offers a comprehensive set of resources, including a no cost, in-person presentation to clinic leadership.
Med Students and Residents: Share Your Research at 3rd Annual Poster Symposium
Want to get feedback from practicing physicians on your research? Submit an abstract to be considered for the MMA's 3rd Annual Poster Symposium at our Annual Conference on Sept. 23 in St. Louis Park. Poster entrants receive free admission to the event. To be eligible, you must be enrolled in and actively pursuing an approved course within Minnesota leading to the degree of doctor of medicine or osteopathy, or engaged in a resident or fellow program approved by the Liaison Committee on Graduate Medical Education.
