Minnesotans Named to Medical License Compact Commission
Two Minnesotans, including one MMA member, have been appointed to the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact Commission by Gov. Mark Dayton. Minnesota is among 11 states that have enacted the Compact, which allows for an accelerated process for eligible physicians to become licensed in multiple states. Read more here
Health Care Financing Task Force Visits Rochester

Clinics Wanted to Help Integrate Mental Health, Primary Care Services
Stratis Health and the Lake Superior Quality Innovation Network are seeking primary care clinics to participate in a project to improve integration of mental health and primary care services, and improve care coordination for people who have mental health diagnoses. Read more here
Input Sought on Statewide Age-Related Hearing Loss Screen
The Minnesota Department of Health and the University of Minnesota are asking physicians to complete a survey about age-related hearing loss screening for Minnesotans age 55 years and older. The survey deadline is Nov. 13. Read more here

Foundation Event Raises Nearly $50,000
Care Where It Counts, the MMA Foundation's fall fundraising event, welcomed 70 guests and raised nearly $50,000 during its stops in Rochester and the Twin Cities over the last two weeks. Read more here.  
Physicians Sought for Crisis Care Work Group
The Minnesota Department of Health is recruiting representatives, including physicians, to serve on a crisis standards of care steering group that will oversee the establishment of a plan for crisis standards of care in Minnesota. Read more here

CMS Extends Info Deadline on MACRA
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has extended to Nov. 17 the comment period for its Request for Information (RFI) for the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act of 2015 (MACRA). Earlier this year, Congress passed MACRA, which replaced the flawed Sustainable Growth Rate formula. Now, CMS is looking for information regarding implementation of the Merit-Based Incentive Payment System, promotion of alternative payment models, and incentive payments for participation in eligible alternative payment models.
