Finding Solutions for Dissatisfaction and Burnout
On Nov. 11, physicians can find solutions for job dissatisfaction and burnout at a special event that will feature AMA practice redesign expert Bruce Bagley, MD, MAAFP. Bagley will discuss issues facing independent physicians including practice efficiency, improving patient care and reducing burnout. Read more here  
MEDPAC Fundraising Off to Great Start
MEDPAC, the MMA's political action committee, kiicked off its new fundraising year at the Annual Conference in late September. More than half the people in attendance made a commitment to the cause. All together, MEDPAC raised more than $21,000 at the event - a new record. All donations to the PAC are directed by physician members and only go to legislators who support a strong physician-patient relationship. For more information, visit the MEDPAC website
U of M's Baird Wins Family Medicine Award 
On Sept. 30, long-time MMA member Mac Baird, MD, MS, received the American Academy of Family Physicians' Thomas W. Johnson Award for Career Contributions to Family Medicine Education. It's the AAFP's highest honor, recognizing outstanding contributions to family medicine education. Way to go, Dr. Baird!
MNsure Looking for Advisory Committee Members
MNsure, the state's health insurance exchange, is seeking advisory committee members to provide guidance, advice and recommendations to its board. In particular, Minnesota physicians should consider applying for the group's Health Industry Advisory Committee. Submit a resume and an application by 5 p.m. Oct. 15. Click here for more details.
