MMA/MMCGME Host Residents, Fellows
Residents and fellows gathered in person and online at the University of Minnesota Continuing Education and Conference Center in St. Paul on Sept. 19 for "Preparing for Practice, from Creating your CV to Signing your Contract." This was the first-of-its-kind comprehensive event sponsored primarily by MMA and MMCGME. Topics included: quick credentialing facts; how to make your CV stand out; what to expect during the interview process; what's negotiable in physician contracts; and which practice type is right for you? Speakers included MMA members (Cindy Firkins Smith, MD, Lisa Mattson, MD, Dionne Hart, MD, and Maria Loerzel, MD) as well as four subject matter experts from around the state. The response was overwhelmingly positive and there were several attendees who expressed their desire to see it made into an annual event. For a recording of the event, click here.
