More Than 100 Public Health Advocates Gather for Summit
Physicians, nurses, public health professionals and others gathered to discuss ways to make Minnesota the healthiest state in the nation at an all-day event on Aug. 6 on the University of Minnesota, St. Paul campus. The Twin Cities Medical Society and the Minnesota Public Health Association hosted the event. The MMA, UCare, Minnesota Department of Health and HealthPartners were co-sponsors. Read more here

Need to Know: AMA Posts Useful Info on MACRA
The new Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act (MACRA) replaced SGR. However, most physicians aren't clear on what that means and how the law will affect them. The AMA has posted a story on its website that includes useful information on MACRA that all practicing physicians should know. 
Klobuchar, Emmer and Dayton to Address Opioids at U Event
The MMA is co-sponsoring a free all-day seminar on prescription opioids called "Pain. Pill. Problem. Minnesota Moving Forward Together" on Aug. 25 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Northrop Auditorium at the University of Minnesota. Read more here
