Drug Take Back Event a Success in St. Cloud

Stearns Benton Medical Society physicians and other volunteers coordinated two unused drug take-back events in the St. Cloud area during the last two weeks, resulting in the collection of more than 150 pounds of unused prescription meds. Read more here.

TCMS CEO Presents at National Conference

Sue Schettle, Twin Cities Medical Society CEO and project director for Honoring Choices, presented recently at the Association for Medical Society Executives national conference in Louisville. Schettle discussed the role that county medical societies can play in advancing population health initiatives. The goal of the presentation was to spur thinking about how small organizations can tackle large societal issues such as end-of-life care planning.

Three Minnesotans Make Top 100 List in Health Care

Once again, Stephen Hemsley, UnitedHealth Group CEO, John Noseworthy, M.D., Mayo Clinic president and CEO, and Rulon Stacey, Fairview Health Services president and CEO, are the only three Minnesotans to make it on Modern Healthcare's "100 Most Influential People in Health - 2014" list. Hemsley ranked fourth, Noseworthy 16th and Stacey 87th. Noseworthy is an MMA member.
