MMA Speaks Out on State's Payment Reform Recommendations

MEDPAC Endorses State Legislative Candidates
MEDPAC, the political action committee of the MMA, has completed its endorsements of candidates for the Minnesota state legislature. They are a mix of 47 Republican and Democratic senators and representatives; 26 are incumbents. |
Exchange Prototype Now Viewable
Although much work (as well as legislative input) is still needed before Minnesota launches its own insurance exchange in 2013, you can get an example of what it may look like with the Design Reference Prototype, created by the California Healthcare Foundation. According to the website, the prototype effectively demonstrates "the online health enrollment user experience - complete with transitions, flow and interactions." |
 Abenstein Named First VP for ASAMMA Member John Abenstein, M.D., who is in the anesthesiology department at Mayo Clinic, was named first vice president of the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) on Oct. 17. Previously, he had served as the group's speaker of the House of Delegates. Given his new position, Abenstein is in line to become the ASA's president in two years. |
