   For most of us, attending camp as a child or sending our own children to summer camp is just "what we do".  But, for the 90% of children served by MIB who live in poverty, summer camp is just a dream . . . until now... 

Making It Better is excited to announce
our 2013 Summer Camp
starting June 11!
Rather than spend the miserably hot summer days in a lonely apartment or on an empty playground, this year 90 deserving students will spend 3 weeks with our Making It Better
staff and volunteers at a 
free summer camp. 
This summer Making It Better will change the lives of many deserving students by giving them an experience never-before imagined...summer camp!

MIB camp will be 3 weeks filled with hands on learning activities and TONS of fun! 

 

  • kids will meet guests from around the world
  • take hip hop dance and swim lessons
  • take cooking classes
  • learn about and paint in the style of great artists
  • participate in the Scholastic Reading summer challenge
  • think and play Outside the Box
  • participate in physical activity and games
  • woodworking projects
  • Junior Achievement
  • Character Counts - learning to develop positive relationships and self-management skills 
We need your help to make this DREAM a REALITY!
Summer is the time so many are out of town on vacation, and consequently, our donations drop. The "summer giving slump" really challenges our staff and our resources, while we seek to expose our kids to the camp experience many of us take for granted.

 

That is why we need your gift now to help to make the camp experience a reality and give kids a respite from brutal summer conditions!
