Engage: MASK MATTERS
MASK launches the 'MASK MATTERS' campaign at the third annual MASKer Aide Gala!

MASK (Mothers Awareness on School-age Kids) would like to thank all of our donors, supporters, volunteers, and community leaders for attending the third annual MASKer Aide Gala that was held on October 5, 2013 at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess Resort. Also, THANK YOU to our Venetian Sponsor, zTrip; Mardi Gras Sponsors, Orthopaedic Specialists of Central Arizona and Event Smart Productions; and our Moretta Sponsor, Right Toyota. Finally, a special thank you to Mark Curtis of 12 News for emceeing this beautiful event.

During the third annual MASKer Aide Gala, MASK launched its newest campaign, MASK MATTERS. The goal of this campaign is to raise awareness on the social issues that we cover. Through this campaign, MASK will provide education to schools on bullying, drugs, underage drinking, etc., and will emphasize the importance of parent-child communication. Nearly every age group is represented in the MASK MATTERS campaign, which illustrates the importance of communication and education -- from parents who have been through the MASK program whose children have benefited from it, to professionals who are striving to make their community a better place, to students who understand the challenges facing their peer group and the ways that MASK has impacted their lives. Engage.
Tips.

Bully: Take a moment to recognize your inner bully. Hold yourself accountable for your actions, which may undermine another person or even your own children. Watch what you say and do. Bullies are everywhere, but if you take the time to empathize with others, you can eliminate the bully in yourself.

Safety: With Halloween just ending yesterday, ensure that the candy collected by your kids is safe by visiting a local participating NextCare Urgent Care to have your goodies x-rayed for FREE until end of business hours on November 1, 2013!
