If you prefer to keep the current version or have questions about these changes, please contact AB Support. The longer story: Upon our review of the NGA Center / CCSSO Common Core ELA document, we have determined that some changes are warranted to better reflect the online PDF and HTML versions. Changes specific to Anchor Standards and Writing Standards are: Anchor Standards Our current version of CCSS ELA includes the Anchor Standards layered within the grade-level documents. To better reflect the official NGA Center / CCSSO document, on 6/17/13, AB will provide an updated version of CCSS ELA without the Anchor Standards. Anchor Standards presented independently remain in place. Writing Standards Our current version presents the Literacy in History/Social Studies, Science, and Technical Subjects Writing Standards split between and duplicated within the subject groups, as presented in the Reading Standards. The official NGA Center / CCSSO document presents these Literacy standards a single time, reflecting all subjects. AB will provide an updated version to match the single presentation in the official Common Core ELA document. How Do These Changes Impact You? We anticipate the removal of Anchor Standards will impact very few clients. Alignments are not typically made at the level of the Anchor Standards. Also, in the updated CCSS ELA version, all of the remaining standards statements will maintain their current AB GUIDs. For those clients that use AB GUIDs for alignments, we can provide a mapping guide for the consolidated writing standards so that you can update your alignments. For AB clients that use our alignment tools or alignment services, these mappings will be made automatically. We recognize that some of you may have a continued need for the current version of Common Core ELA. AB will continue to provide access to the current Common Core ELA version by creating a new custom document. This new document will contain all new GUIDs, and AB will provide crosswalks between the old and new GUIDs. If you are interested in migrating to this new custom version of Common Core ELA with the Anchor Standards, please contact AB support so that we can help you with the transition. There will be no additional cost for our current Common Core ELA customers regardless of which version you choose. We continue to appreciate your trust in Academic Benchmarks' ability to provide you with the highest quality standards data. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact AB Support.
