Your Feedback is Need for Common Core Changes in to the AB Database
Since our initial capture of the national Common Core standards, NGA/CCSSO has released supporting documentation, which describes the appropriate naming conventions for the Common Core documents. In accordance with the other updates made per this memo, AB is proposing to change the CCSS subject names by removing 'College- and Career-Readiness Standards and K-12' from both ELA & Mathematics. The English Language Arts document will furthermore be named "English Language Arts and Literacy".
Alaska has not adopted the Common Core standards. However, their current Language Arts content standards closely resemble the format of the Common Core. In an effort to maintain consistency, we propose to move the, currently separate, Reading and Writing 2012 content standards into the Language Arts 2012 content standards document. This will result in one document containing the 2012 Language Arts and Literacy (Reading and Writing) standards.
We would like to extend to our clients, the opportunity to provide feedback regarding these proposed changes. Please email absupport@academicbenchmarks.com with any questions or comments in regard to this notice.
In the next Support Snapshot, to be released February 28, 2013, we will notify you if the proposed changes have been committed into the database.
