Happy Thanksgiving
from your
Alaska Ministry Network Family

Have you renewed your credential yet?  You can renew your credential here.  It is quick and easy.  You will need to make sure that your General Council and Network dues are current for 2014.  The deadline is Dec. 31, but why not do it now and enjoy the holidays, knowing that your credential renewal has been submitted?

Our Annual PK|MK Retreat is coming up in a couple weeks and we want all of our PK|MK students to know that we'd love to see them there. Registration begins Thursday, Dec. 4th at 5:00pm and the weekend ends Saturday, Dec. 6th at 12:00pm.  We believe this is an incredible time to pour into these students, making it one of our favorite times of the year.  This is free for the kids of our AG Credentialed Ministers and $120 for any non-credentialed minister kids.  Please visit us at www.akyouth.org for a tentative schedule and registration form.  Let us know if you have any questions.  See you there!

There just never seems to be enough "workers" for the work of the ministry. If your church needs Sunday School Teachers, Children's Church Workers, Women's Ministry or Men's Leaders, Young Adults, or Youth Leaders, AKSOM is here to help equip the people in your church. Beginning in January 2015 we will be "On the Road Again" traveling to the Kenai Peninsula and Fairbanks to teach live classes. Peninsula Christian Center in Soldotna and Jubilee Worship Center in Fairbanks have agreed to host the classes at their churches. If this is something that you are interested in, our class schedule and other useful information can be found here.

We have received good news on the Minister's Housing Allowance.  You may have heard that a court in Wisconsin previously ruled that the Housing Allowance was unconstitutional.  The 7th Circuit Court of Appeals just overturned that case, making the Housing Allowance safe for now.  This is a benefit that will continue to be challenged in upcoming years.  Click here to see a short video of Dr. Richard Hammar discussing this ruling.  Has your church board approved your housing allowance for 2015?  Remember that it needs to be in advance of the calendar year, in writing, and adopted by the church board.  You can find a form to use on our website.

Don't forget to mark Network Conference on your calendar, April 27th - 30th, 2015!  This coming year is going to be a big one for the Assemblies of God here in Alaska.  We will be celebrating 50 years as a Network!  In honor of this milestone, General Superintendent Dr. George Wood will be here as our guest.  We'll be kicking off the conference with the Missions Banquet which will be held Monday, April 27th at the Egan Center.  For the remainder of the week, the conference will take place at Muldoon Community Assembly.
