2016 Perennial Preview, Part 1 |
Snow banks got you down? Let's "think spring" together by looking at some exciting perennials that will be headed your way this year!
One of our greatest joys is selecting new plants to share with our customers each season. With their wide variety of colors, styles and forms, perennials especially stand-out when it comes to each year's new introductions.
Below you'll find a few of our favorite new perennials for 2016:
|
Asclepias 'Hello Yellow'
A repeat bloomer that is attractive to most butterflies, the brilliant yellow blooms of this variety emerge in late summer followed by attractive seed pods.
|
Crocosmia 'Prince of Orange'
'Prince of Orange' offers closely spaced flowers of vibrant orange-red with burgundy speckled centers that arise over wide iris-like foliage in late July. The flowers are followed by large attractive seed pods that are great for dried arrangements.
|
Dicentra 'Fire Island'
Bright heart-shaped blooms of magenta-red with white tips are produced from late spring through early summer on this vigorous compact plant. Fern-like powder-blue leaves combined with an extra floriferous habit make this plant a garden stand-out.
