by Eva Dunn-Froebig, RWM Executive Director

The Boston Marathon on April 21, Patriots' Day, was a significant day for runners all over the world. It was a day for us to prove our resilience and show that last year's Boston Marathon bombing won't stop us from running.

In fact, more people wanted to participate in this year's Boston Marathon than ever before to show their support for the City of Boston and the victims of last year's marathon.

Locally, 13 runners from Missoula participated in the Boston Marathon, including Trisha Drobeck who ran in the women's elite field. The Runners Edge hosted a live screening of the Boston Marathon and we all got to watch and cheer together as Trisha crossed the finish line on screen.

Support Run Wild Missoula During Give LOCAL Missoula Day, May 6
by Eva Dunn-Froebig, Executive Director

Give LOCAL Missoula is a powerful 24-hour, online giving event that connects Missoulians with community nonprofits like Run Wild Missoula to reinforce the value of both local philanthropic giving and community engagement. LOCAL nonprofits' involvement in the event will give members of our community the chance to find and support an organization whose mission aligns with their passion, or to make an amplified impact to an organization they already support with the help of the Missoula Community Foundation's $10,000 Stretch Pool. Give LOCAL Missoula's 2014 goal is to raise $100,000 for Missoula nonprofits during this one day!  Read more here.

BOP color-black I never thought of myself as a runner or even an active person but I guess now I am.  Our family enjoys outdoor activities just as much as the next but I was never the one to suggest an outing.  That sure has changed! I started run/walking after I had Aspynn two and a half years ago and have not looked back since. Read here for the rest of Shannie's view from the back.

Wear Your Support for Run Wild Missoula

RWM members and runners and walkers in the community can enjoy this lightweight singlet made by Sugoi during training runs and local and out-of-town races. Wearing your singlet signifies your support for Run Wild Missoula. In addition, the back of the singlet promotes the Missoula Marathon as our hometown race.

We look forward to seeing a sea of orange (for men) and light blue (for women) during the spring and summer race season this year. Club singlets are $30 and RWM get a 10% discount. Thank you for your support! Purchase them at the Runners Edge, 304 North Higgins Ave. or on the RWM website. Go shopping.

Gratitude from Rebecca Collinson: Including Flap Jack Fundraiser in February

by Rebecca Collinson, RWM Member

Hello all my running friends & extended family! I just wanted to drop you all a note of thanks and give you a quick update on my healing progress. First of all, I wanted to say that the Operation Flapjack Fundraiser that was held in February that many of you participated in, meant a lot to me & definitely helped offset the cost of being in Arizona for 2 weeks going to the Mayo Clinic. --- Thankfully the trip was a success!  Read more here from Rebecca Collinson. RWM is so happy that Rebecca is doing well!
