We are so grateful for our outstanding community partners! Special thanks to Juarez Boxing for hosting a group from our Eureka! Program. The girls loved learning about exercise, boxing and self-defense.
 July/2015

The weather may be hot, but our programs are "too cool" for more than 300 area girls! The girls are fighting summer learning loss by participating in an hour of reading each morning, science classes in June and math classes in July. They are also learning how to eat healthy with Chef Erica, taking care of an organic garden and writing their own screenplay for the summer production. At Eureka!, the teen girls are building drones and dissecting pigs! We are absolutely thrilled about all that is planned this summer, and can't wait to share it all with you here and on social media! Keep up with the latest from Girls Inc. of Central Alabama by following us on Facebook and Twitter!

Briyanna wants to be a teacher when she grows up so that she can help kids learn new things. This is Briyanna's first year at Girls Inc. and she says that she will definitely come back next year! Her favorite thing about Girls Inc. is "all of the other girls."

Girls Inc. Hosts Annual Uniform Drive

Each year Girls Inc. of Central Alabama brings Outreach services to thousands of girls in over 50 area schools. While visiting local classrooms, staff members regularly encounter girls in uniforms that are worn or have been outgrown. This summer Girls Inc. will collect school uniforms to share with guidance counselors at schools throughout the region. Supporters may click here to donate $25 to cover the cost of a uniform, or you can also shop on your own and deliver new uniforms to Girls Inc. for further distribution. Last year we provided 177 uniforms to girls in need. Please help Girls Inc. reach our goal of providing more than 200 uniforms this year! Contact Stephanie Guckenberger at sguckenberger@girlsinccentral-al.org or 595-5542 ext 319 for more information.
