Girls Inc. Observes Child Abuse Prevention Month

One in four girls and one in six boys are sexually abused before the age of 18. One in ten children are witnesses to family violence. Girls Inc. of Central Alabama is a partner organization with the Alabama Department of Child Abuse & Neglect Prevention (Children's Trust Fund) and share in their mission of preventing child abuse and neglect from occurring. During this month, we will provide life skills programs to local schools, churches, and community organizations to help educate youth and strengthen families. We will also hold activities for girls who attend our Crestwood Center. This year's theme is Every Child Matters. Please join us in observing Child Abuse Prevention Month. Together, we can raise awareness and reduce the risk of child abuse and neglect in central Alabama.
