  • Graham & Associates
  • Oakstone Publishing Company
  • SAIIA Construction Co.
  • Highlands Golf Course

Special Thanks to The Birmingham Zoo!

Through a new collaboration with The Birmingham Zoo, a fellow SAIL (Summer Adventures in Learning) grantee, the girls in 3rd through 5th grade participated in a full week of Zoo School. Zoo staff provided multiple lessons on Native Alabama Indian Tribes, B. C. and A.D. Timeline and Alabama Wildlife. As an added bonus, the girls will visit the zoo in July for an educational field trip. The zoo also provided scholarships for ten of our girls to attend their ZOOFARI Camp June 30, 2014 through July 3, 2014.

Girls Inc. To Host Back-to-School Uniform Drive

Each year Girls Inc. of Central Alabama brings Outreach services to thousands of girls in over 50 area schools. While visiting local classrooms, staff members regularly encounter girls in uniforms that are worn or have been outgrown. This summer Girls Inc. will collect school uniforms to share with guidance counselors at schools throughout the region. Supporters may provide monetary donations of $25 to cover the cost of a uniform, or they can also shop on their own and deliver new navy pants and white collared shirts of any size to Girls Inc. for further distribution. Please help Girls Inc. provide an essential service that will allow girls from throughout the Birmingham area start their school year off right!
