Sunday Worship Service 10:30 am
|
September 13, 2015: "Ingathering and Rosh Hashanah"
Rev Chip Wright, with Jason Stearns, Worship Associate
Bring your water and other symbolic items to help build our Altar of ingathering as we reaffirm another new program year together. Today is also Rosh Hashanah, marking the beginning of a new year and the High Holy days of Judaism.
|
Contemplative Service 9 am
| (Begins September 13) Our lay-led Contemplative Services are held from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. each Sunday in the Fireside Room.
The Contemplative Service was started more than ten years ago to provide an opportunity for Sunday worship in a small group setting. It gives attendees a reflective, spiritual foundation and quiet source of inspiration for the coming week. Readings introduce a silent period to reflect on a topic or idea, followed by an opportunity to share individual thoughts.
Join us soon! All are welcome to try this weekly alternative to UUCM's Traditional Sunday Services.

RE nUUs | |
From the Director of Religious Education
Come experience some deep fun and multigenerational community:
RE Classes begin September 20th. Parents, please look for an email from me regarding registration, snack prep assignment, and class assignments for your child(ren).
UUCM outreach table at the Petaluma Progressive Festival Sept 27th - We need one to two people for each of several two hour shifts. UU outreach table with UUCM Membership, SJC and RE materials. We will be co-tabling with UU Petaluma RE. http://www.progressivefestival.org/
RE teaching teams - A model with which teachers deepen their own UU faith, skills, and community. Teams of 3-5 adults and teens work together to share the tasks of teaching a great group of kids, meet monthly to experience and practice the UUA curriculum. We build the world up supporting families in religious and spiritual development.
New steps in multi-generational community building. What is the best way for kids, youth and adults to get to know each other and share? Doing something. We will have an RE Activity Table one to two times per month outside or near the coffee hour area. Come play and bond with your elders/youngers. By harnessing the wisdom of all ages, we can change the world.
Live, Love, and Learn,

The Social Justice Committee thanks everyone who came to the SJ Sunday Table to sign the Iran Nuclear Agreement sheet to be delivered to Congressman Jared Huffman's office. And a special thanks to Don Beck for taking the initiative to phone Mr. Huffman!

Remarkable People | | Here comes another season of Remarkable People!
On Friday, September 18, we will gather in the Fireside Room at 7:30 pm to hear of the interesting life and times of our own Lisa Wiggins and June Fesler.
Come for a comfortable, convivial evening hearing about the adventures of these everyday amazing people among us.
Sponsored by the Adult Education Committee. (We encourage carpooling when possible for environmental reasons and Friday's busy parking lot.) |
Basket Share Program
| | UUCM's Basket Share Program, a project of our Social Justice Committee, is one of many connections to our community. Several Sundays per year, we share our offering basket with another nonprofit organization that provides essential community services. Most recipients serve the Bay Area and are ones UUCM members and friends are directly involved with. This means that our collective Basket Share dollars make a big difference right here in our local community. or Joan Nelson 415-506-4166 |
Justice Action Table
| | Take advantage of the UUCM Social Justice "Soapbox Table!" Help us activate our shared humanitarian values by showing us where we could make a difference by speaking out, signing a petition, attending a meeting, film or group action.
