Sunday Worship Service 10:30 am chalice

June 7, 2015: "Ripple in Still Water'"

Rev Chip Wright, with Nani Ranken, Worship Associate

Death is a constant, as is life and birth. The cycles roll out and we struggle to understand. The language of metaphor is a good tool at these times. Today, poetry, prose, psalms and songs.

Contemplative Service 9 am  chalice
Leaders

6/7/15 Carol Kerr  (This will be a special service to honor Jinendra Jain. Doors will open at 8:30 am)

 6/14/15 Wisdom/Humor Potluck

UUCM's early Sunday morning 9 am Contemplative Service in the Fireside Room is a lay led service.  Readings introduce a silent period to reflect on a topic or idea, followed by an opportunity to share individual thoughts.

Come and widen our circle. All are welcome!

Questions, email Carol Kerr at drckerr@pacbell.net.

From Your DRE

I am grateful for how people have been stepping up to help with Youth Group work parties, teaching classes, and our OWL program outreach.  I am delighted with the near completion of remodeling the downstairs bathroom. Adding a changing station in this gender neutral restroom is a great addition to family friendly atmosphere. Thanks go to the RE Enhancement Fund for this addition.

Photos Needed: Please send photos of kids and family events to Monique Webster for use in a June 14th slideshow celebrating RE Sunday.

See our Summer Schedule for family events and RE.

Are you interested in joining the volunteer team to help with UUCM Summer Day Camp, contact Jef Melcher.

Upcoming Dates:

June 14th- Sunday morning intergenerational service to honor teachers, three teens join YRUU, and an All Congregation potluck lunch to end the regular church year and start the summer schedule.

June 21st - first summer schedule Sunday and after service Father's Day Celebration with BBQ. Do you want to bring something for the grill?

June 26th 6-9pm UUCM Game Night - Family fun with games, food, and fellowship. All ages welcome. Are you a family of one? Come join us.

Pastoral Care

arts poppies

Our committee is in need of cards for our members in time of crisis or celebration. In particular for those who are ill or for the families who have lost a loved one. If you are receiving or keeping such cards, especially "Get Well" or "Sympathy cards", donating them to Pastoral Care would be most appreciated. Put them in the Pastoral Care mailbox in the workroom. Thanks and blessings to you.

Mountain Play: Peter Pan, June 13

June 13 We are taking a trip to Wonderland with UUCM members.

Order your tickets at  www.mountainplay.org and plan to meet at the Park and Ride at Smith Ranch Road just off US 101 at 10 am that day. We will carpool to the Manzanita Parking lot and catch a school bus to the mountain. Pack a picnic, wear a hat, bring a blanket or cushions to sit on, and don't forget your sunscreen. Please email thomas.ervin@comcast.net if you have questions and to let me know that you are coming.

Best,

Thomas
