Sunday Worship Service 10:30 am
|
Daylight Saving Time Ends - turn clocks back 1 hour
November 2, 2014: "Dia de Los Muertos"Jef Melcher, with Sue Fleckles, Worship Associate
In a version of this traditional ritual service, we gather to remember our ancestors both recent and long gone. All are invited to bring photos and a few mementos to place upon an altar. This intergenerational service has art and music for young and old. We will share the joys and sorrows of remembering our loved ones. We will also take a moment to name the newborn of the year as we celebrate the cycle of life.

Contemplative Service 9 am
|
Leaders:
11/2/14 Doug Kerr
UUCM's early Sunday morning 9 am Contemplative Service in the Fireside Room is a lay led service. Readings introduce a silent period to reflect on a topic or idea, followed by an opportunity to share individual thoughts.
Come and widen our circle. All are welcome!
Questions, email Carol Kerr at drckerr@pacbell.net.

Open Volunteer Positions
| |
Great news! Marjorie Hollinger has agreed to take the position of Kitchen Committee Chair. Additional members of the committee are Marilyn Nelson and Judy Finn, in charge of coordination of Sunday refreshments; Don Beck, in charge of Sunday coffee; Judy Finn is additionally in charge of inventory and purchasing of supplies; and Phil Smith will help coordinate composting activities. Please join me in thanking this committee for this important work, and thank you Marjorie for taking on the leadership role.
The Kitchen Committee is no longer in charge of coordinating potlucks. We have created the new position of Potluck Coordinator to handle this role. We are thinking of it as a one-time duty, not an ongoing duty. Our next official potluck is following the Christmas Eve service -- would you be willing to coordinate this potluck (with no obligation to coordinate any additional potlucks)? If so, please let me know.
Highlighted position: **Stewardship**: The tremendous energy & creativity of Sandra Gluck and Steve Webster have revitalized our stewardship committee, but two people cannot handle all of the work that is needed. We would like at least one, maybe two people to join the committee and help them with their mission to aid us in strengthening our community by helping people to express themselves through gratitude, connection, and giving. The additional positions are not leadership positions. "I don't want to ask people for money," you say? You will not! The new process will be a loving and connecting process that you will be proud to be a part of. If you are willing to join this committee, please let me, Sandra, or Steve know.
More information on important volunteer positions.
Best,
Dianne
