Sunday Worship Service 10:30 am
|
June 15, 2014: Fathers, Fools, and High-Fliers
Readers' Theatre with Worship Associate Dianne Estrada
This program by UUCM's Readers' Theatre starts off with a celebration of padres biological and spiritual, moves through some shaggy-god and noodle head stories, and indulges in some short fantasies of flight. These plays, poems, and anecdotes are touching or humorous, and some broach the Big Questions. Come meet Father William, the insomniac playwright, the foolish Brahman, Mandelbaum the tailor, the two balloons Esla and Frinz, mayflies Horace and May, and many more characters! Pianist Paul Smith will provide musical interludes throughout the program.

Expense Reimbursements for 2013-14 Due
| |
If you have any unreimbursed (approved) expenses for the current year, please submit them no later than June 30. You can print a request form or pick one up in the Community Room (wall pocket just inside the door on the right). All forms must have the correct budget (listed on the back of the form) and be approved by a committee or event chair, or Board President (Mikey) or Treasurer (Steve Webster). They can be mailed, e-mailed or put in Janette's box in the Community Room.
We aren't able to reimburse expenses after July 15 for the 2013-14 year. In order for expenses to not hit next year's budget, it's important that they are submitted in the year they occurred. Please let Janette know if you have any questions at office@uumarin.org . Thank you!

From the refreshment coordinator
Marilyn Nelson
| | MANY THANKS to all those who provided refreshments for the congregation during the past year- planned, shopped, came early, cut up food, and set it up with the coffee. Then afterwards cleaned up, washed the dishes and took home dishtowels to wash. In addition they paid a goodly amount of money. Two people working together on refreshments sometimes (but not always) get help from others which can make it a fun experience. ALSO thanks to Don Beck who (with his helpers) "religiously" makes the weekly coffee. The SUMMER is different. We are very casual. The church will provide coffee. If you want to provide refreshments you need to put your name on the poster board on the easel in the lobby so we'l have something light to snack on with our coffee. In other words we need to have volunteers sign up if we want to have refreshments in the summer. NEXT YEAR's schedule for refreshment volunteers will be provided at the end of the summer. |
Dinners for 8 Family Picnic!
| | Sunday, June 29th 3:00 PM Please join us for a family friendly barbecue, hosted by the UU Marin Dinners for Eight group! Where: Stan and Sher Sheldon's home What: Potluck BBQ - dish assignments to be determined When: Sunday, June 29th 3:00 PM Please RSVP to Dani Lundbaek at dani.lundbaek@yahoo.com. Your RSVP gets you the exact address, and a requested potluck dish assignment. All are welcome and encouraged to join us - families with children, singles and couples of all ages! Dinners for Eight is made up of a group of UUs and friends who have dinner together throughout the church year in someone's home. Participants are divided into groups of eight, singles as well as couples and families. The make-up of the group and hosting changes every month, so you have a chance to mingle with different people for great food, fun, and conversation. It's a chance to get to know one another better than you might by just saying "hi" at church. For each dinner, the host provides the main dish and other attendees are assigned an appetizer, a salad or dessert. Most of us also bring wine! We'll be starting up again in the fall. |
