Remarkable People
| | Our venerable and ever popular program -Remarkable People is coming back in September! Mark your calendars for the third Thursday, 7:30 to 9:30 September through May (skipping December.) As before, we will meet in the Fireside Room and invite a member of the older generation and one of the younger generation to share special events, people, or influences that shaped their lives and the formation of their values and beliefs. Each of us is remarkable in our own unique way, and this is what we celebrate through the presentations and discussion. Nani Ranken is looking for a member familiar with the younger generation to help recruit participants when the time comes. |
General Assembly coming soon | | General Assembly June 25-29, Providence, RI General Assembly (GA) is the annual meeting of our Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA). Watching from your computer, iPad, iPhone etc. is an excellent way to experience GA without going there. Norm and Valerie are exploring watching some events at UUCM. More on that later.
Events in the Plenary Hall are streamed live, and posted for viewing afterwards. You can watch from your home. Viewing instructions coming soon.
Take a look at the preliminary schedule and see what interests you. I usually watch the Opening Ceremony, the Service of the Living Tradition, the Ware Lecture and the Closing Ceremony. (some live, some later)
Reminder GA will be in Portland next year so it will be more accessible. In 2007 we had over 20 members attend.
