Sunday Worship Service
|
April 27, 2014: "Beyond the Boundaries" (first talk in the series, "Grace and Gratitude")
Rev. Chip Wright, with Dianne Estrada, Worship Associate
We live lives defined largely by parameters we set, boundaries.
Some are natural, like rivers and seas; others are of our own making.
These lines can stifle potential we never see unless we step outside our boundaries.

"Raising the Roof Beams!"
| | May 4th "Raise the Roof Beams" Service is getting closer, and the excitement grows! As the time gets closer...most of the two-minute slots we will have available for representatives of committees and activities during the service proper have been spoken for. There are still a few open so let Rev. Chip know ASAP if you want one! (Clue: 2 minutes is 180 words or less.) Any eloquent followup will be handled at the Fair in the Sanctuary following the service when you can field all questions and gather names of folks interested in getting involved with your committee or activity. Meanwhile please arrive at Church early on the 4th so you can grab a space and set up your table. Remember we will have tables waiting for you that morning. We will also have some materials and thoughts to help you set up if you need extra assistance. Contact Janette or me for questions or help. Together we will all learn more about what's going on at UUCM as we Raise the Roof Beams in fun, song and excitement! Rev Chip Read previous weekly articles about Raise the Roof Beams. |
RE nUUs | | The Auction, egg hunt, and flower communion were fun and lovely. The kids did a fine job with their little dance on such short notice. We had to modify it at the last minute. They are such good sports. Parent group forming Out of an OWL parent meeting grew a desire to meet every other month during the service. Next proposed date is June 15th. BBQ to follow? We need: A boom box (used is fine), 3 carpet sweepers (used is fine) so kids can clean up after themselves, two computers (used is fine) for volunteers to help. If we do not get donations we can spend some money, but I wanted to reach out to you first. Help with snack prep for RE classes. Click here to sign up. We provide the food, you provide the love. |

Spring Fling Auction Thank you
| |

Well boy we certainly had fun flinging last Saturday. The Spring Fling Auction was a wonderful evening of food, entertainment, exciting auctions and fun! Our deepest gratitude to all who made this possible. Dani Lundbaek, co-chair, Lori Smith, Phil Smith, Heather Smith, and Karen Auroy who all organized the auction, Carole Rosvold and Lorayne Hansen who guided us on logistics and beauty, composed the Auction committee. Thanks also to Janette Morrow who did -- well, so much, it would take a book to describe here. There were many, many volunteers who helped at the auction, donated terrific items, helped get the word out, provided a steady arm when the gales blew. To the caterers that provided yummies including Alta Cuisine Gourmet Catering, Marinwood Market, ETC Catering, Rickey's Restaurant, Delicious! Catering, CaterMarin and Lauren's Delights. To all of those people, our deepest gratitude for making this event the success that it was! And of course Irene who got it all going.
