Wow! Stone Soup Sunday was Great! Thanks to so many helpers including YRUU, Pres. Mikey and his kitchen crew, all the parents showing up early and the Youth Choir. If you didn't get a Guest at Your Table box yet, pick one up on the RE table in the foyer.

Besides Deck the Halls family fun Dec. 1st, all are invited to attend the  Dec. 14th Potluck-Caroling-Contra Dance event.  This has been changed to a no-RSVP-needed event. Come with some food, an appetite, and willingness to have fun. Songbooks provided. This is a co-community event with the Northern CA Contra Dance Society. Come mingle.

And ... the Family Xmas Eve service Dec. 24th, 5pm. Treats and fellowship to follow.

Help raise money for a permanent shelter

The fundraiser sale - Nov. 29/30 - 10 am - 7pm

Marin County has only 55 shelter beds.

But there are 300+ men and women sleeping on our streets, on hillsides and in cars each night.

Please join Joan Nelson in raising funds to support advocacy for a permanent shelter.

At the same time, get your holiday shopping done!

100+ paintings - on canvas, board, glass & clothing.

Tax deductible. Credit cards accepted.

70 Rafael Dr. at the north end of Irwin. Near Dominican University

Here's a link to Joan's website.
Deck the Halls  - Sunday, December 1
xmas-ornaments.jpg Join us! Young and old! We transform Fellowship Hall for the holidays on Dec. 1st immediately after the 10:30 am service. We'll have wreath-making (please bring fresh sprigs of cedar, pine, or other greens), paper snowflakes, all sorts of ornament making and of course it wouldn't be the same without paper chains!! We'll have our Christmas tree up and ready. Light snacks will be provided. Hosted by the RE committee.

Stone Soup Service November 24
Our Stone Soup service was quite enjoyable. The YRUU group did the chalice lighting and told the Stone Soup story with a Star Wars slant, the youth choir sang and we had wonderful homemade soup. Afterwards we joined in the second Congregational Conversation and got to know one another better.

Shelter volunteers Nov 24 were Joyce, Debbie and Roddi.

As winter approaches, we are starkly reminded that our least fortunate neighbors are homeless all year long:
*Please put your name on the Sunday night Women's Shelter Dinner sign-up board in the foyer.

*If you haven't yet responded to the Social Justice Committee's homeless appeal letter please do so as soon as you are able.

*Tell your friends and neighbors to do their holiday shopping at Joan Nelson's art fundraiser. Nov. 29-30. Funds will go toward establishing a permanent shelter. Tax deductible.  Credit cards OK.

Cleaning out closets and drawers? Instead of

bringing bags of old clothes to church take your unwanted items to GoodWill in San Rafael (Third & Lincoln) and be sure to tell the attendant to earmark your receipt for Ritter House. Ritter House, in turn, will hand out vouchers to the homeless people who can then find the kind of clothing they need.

---------------------------------------------------------- Anyone interested in taking the Companionship Training referred to by Street Chaplain Rev. Gaffney in his Nov. 10 sermon should contact Joan Nelson - 415-453-6221 - figleafjoan@comcast.net
