Salad for Homeless
| | For all of us very busy UUers and friends, here's a way to do a service by reaching out to those who need us so much. Bring a salad, any kind, to the 1st Presbyterian Church on Tuesday November 12 at 5:15pm. We are invited to dine with people who are in need. It will do your heart good and find folks are not so different than ourselves. Remember families are welcome! It is over by 6:30pm so you still have your evening! Please call or email Carol CJWLittrell@aol.com or 883-9676. We are much needed and appreciated!

Book Group
| | Our UUCM Book Group meets on third Wednesdays at 7:30 in the Clara Barton Room. Members and visitors are welcome to join our discussions.
For November 20 we will be reading Open Secrets , eight short stories by Alice Munro, this year's winner of the Nobel Prize for literature. Mary Bicknell will lead the discussion.
"Open Secrets is a book that dazzles with its faith in language and in life."-New York Times Book Review. "With a few strokes of her pen, Munro has the unerring ability to familiarize us with a foreign country or the entire life of another person. . . Munro's women must take repeated flight from the harshness of their realities -- bad spinsterhood, worse marriages -- into their imaginations, where wrongs are alternately redressed or allowed to fester into self-doubt and guilt." (Kirkus Review)
Note: The Book Group will not meet in December. Questions contact Nani.
