Sunday Worship Service
|
September 29, 2013: 'The Faith Experience'Rev. Chip Wright and Karen Auroy, Worship Associate with Congregational ResponseFaith, often a key to the religious experience, offers a safe and secure sense of the world we live in. This is not only true in fundamental Jewish, Christian and Islamic tradition, but what we call 'New Age Thought' as well. This Sunday I will incorporate a time set aside at the end of the sermon for discussion and observations from the congregation. Congregational Meeting 12 noon, Fellowship Hall

Contemplative Service
| |
UUCM's early Sunday morning 9 am Contemplative Service in the Fireside Room is a lay led service. It has become a quiet reflective mainstay for the circle of 2 to 8 regulars who attend and we always welcome those who would like to try this alternative. Readings introduce a silent period to reflect on a topic or idea, followed by an opportunity to share individual thoughts.
Come and widen our circle. All are welcome!
Questions, email Carol Kerr at [email protected].

Giving Back Or Passing It On | | Think of all your blessings! Here's a spot that needs to be filled. The second Tuesday of the month is UUCM's opportunity to get a
feel good. The Homeless Chaplaincy sponsors a dinner for the less fortunate. It is so well organized that they only need salads for the LARGE group attending the dinner! The number runs about 60 folks!. They always eat every morsel of salad we bring. (Well we do eat as well.)
This month Linda Stoneall, Mary Bicknell, Dick and Marje Park, Walt and Carol Littrell, and Don Beck brought, stayed and ate! Maybe next month, October 8th, 5:15pm at the 1st Presbyterian Church in San Rafael you will pass it on and feel good. Families are welcome!

Book Group
| |

The choice for October 16 is The Dog Stars by Peter Heller. "An elegy for a lost world turns suddenly into a paean to new possibilities. In The Dog Stars, Peter Heller serves up an insightful account of physical, mental, and spiritual survival unfolded in dramatic and often lyrical prose." -The Boston Globe
